A Friendly Reminder

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you, but first let me do this." He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands went into the air.

"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?"And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?"

The hands remained in the air.

"My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20."

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless... But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who LOVE you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO we are and WHOSE we are.

You are special - Don't EVER forget it!

The Fray

I went to The Fray's concert at the Oprheum on Wednesday night and it was awesome! I was so impressed with them.

The lead singer has an amazing voice. He totally sounds like the CD when he's singing live. The band was also really good talking and joking with the audience.

During the performance this one guy a few rows ahead of us kepy checking my friend out and turning around and pointing at us. It looked like he was with his girlfriend so I was motioning him to turn around. He was motioning for us to come a few rows up and join him. We didn't so he came back to us. It turns out he is from Abbotsford like me, and the girl with him is his ex.
So we go with him up a few rows and have fun dancing and singing along.

The lead singer tells everyone to shut up (well he said it nicer than that) and sit down and he sings a song acoustic, just him and his guitar. I had no chair so I sat on the ex's lap. During the solo people kept yelling "you are sexy" and "do it naked."
The next day I bought pre-sale tickets to see the Fray when they come in July.... So excited!

I am addicted... to eBay!

I have been super bored at work lately so I have been checking out the auctions. I have already won 5 things: 1 perfume (Lancome Ange ou Demon) and 4 purses (2 Puma, 1 Ralph Lauren and one Rocawear.) Here are the pics of them:

I really want a Dior purse. Sooo bad. A Pink, Girly Dior Purse. I bid on this purse but was way outbid.

Dior purse... you are my Everest!

Crazed Irish Person Day

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so instead of embarrassing all of us with stories of what went on St. Patrick's Day, I thought I would show you instead. Please enjoy my ghetto collage that I made in Microsoft Word:

I've got Mad Curling Skills

I started the day off well. I slept in, woke up and had some breakie, and watched an episode of Sex and the City. I got all my stuff together and headed into Delta.

The pleasant drive was interrupted with a phone call from Elise telling me that our friend wasn't ready to go and he would meet us there... If he didn't show up I was ready to kill him.

So, I got to Elise's and it was a madhouse. She was freaking out, trying to print out a logo to put on her shirt, do her hair and makeup, and pack for the night. I decided that it was time to make us a drink.

We finally got all packed into the car and headed to the curling rink, or as I like to call it, the curling alley. To aleviate Elise's bitchy mood I pulled out the "Sweet Pea" card I had made her. She "hearted" it.

We got to the "alley," got ready, and started to curl. It was a little disorganized, yet fun. The best part was when Elise was taking a picture of the rock she had thrown almost onto the button... and went ass over teakettle onto the ice, where a rock hit another rock, sending it into her side. I kinda felt bad but I pretty much laughed my ass off.

After two hours of curling, sufficiently cold and buzzed, we left curling to start our St. Patricks night.
By the way, check out the names on these rocks... priceless.

Craft Master D

I am crafty! Not just in the sly & foxy way, but in the make my own cards and scrapbooks way. I have scrapbooked since Grade 12, but ever since I dropped $275 at my co-worker's "Stampin' Up" party a few weeks ago I have been going card crazy! Here are a few examples:

Not bad eh? I have one thing to say... Crafts are Cool!

Whites Only

On Thursday night the gals and I attended the Bacardi White Party at The Caprice and had a blast.

The Saturday before my friends and I had met the Bacardi rep who gave us tickets, and my friend's boyfriend was emceeing the event, so even though it was a "school night" we decided to make the trek out.

We showed up in our white gear, including our super cute white lilles in our hair (I even painted my toenails white) and were greeted by a huge crowd at the front door. A few minutes later we talked our way in, grabbed some glowstick bracelets and got in line for a free drink.

Everyone looked smashing in white and there were a lot of cute guys there too! We spent the night drinking (uhhh sooo much rum,) dancing, and flirting.

At the end of the night I went to say bye to the fella who had given us the passes. I remember telling him that he was smart and that was a turn-on, but that I thought he was a player. He told me that: a) he's not a player, and b) he doesn't want a girlfriend in any way, shape or form. Whoa buddy! Who said anything about being your girlfriend!

Message of the Day

Life is short
Break the rules
Forgive quickly
Kiss slowly
Love truly
Laugh uncontrollably
And never regret anything that made you smile

Good Times at Stone T

Saturday night I went out with my friends downtown. We started the night off like losers at Stone Temple (because we get free drinks therr,) but I was DD and sober and really, really not feeling it.

This annoying, big black guy kept coming and dancing with me and my one friend... It's because of our nice-sized bums. Black guys flock to asses like honey to a bee.

We decided to leave and find another club. As were on the way down the stairs I caught the eye of a cute guy... I kept walking, but then his friend knew my friend and we all ended up talking.
The one my friend knew said we could crash at his place in Kits, so then I had free rein to drink.

And drink we did... Shooter after shooter after shooter.

Four of us left Stone Temple, went to this Wine-os restarant, got sushi, and then went to one of the guy's houses. Just as we pulled up to the house my friend puked out the door of the SUV. It was avacado-roll green. Sick.

Inside she puked again and then passed out on the couch, cuddling with one guy and leaving me alone with the other.

We gave each other massages on the sheep-skin rug and then he carried me upstairs where
I slept there in his oh-so-comfy bed (but no funny stuff) and then we left in the morning. I had to pull over twice to let my friend throw up. One of the times was on the freeway. Yikes.

Christina Aguilera Concert

On Monday I went to the Christina Aguilera/Pussycat Dolls concert.

The Pussycat Dolls started it off nicely. Contrary to popular belief most of them can and do actually sing! Also, the little black one is so cute!
Then Christina came on and rocked it. That girl can sing! She came on dancing down a giant white staircase with all her dancers around her. Wow!!

The concert had tonnes of costume and set changes. There was a circus set with a stilt-walker, trapeze girls and flame jugglers. Another had 4 stipper poles and then Christina came up from the bottom on a giant carousel horse. Really neat. A highlight was when she picked a guy from the audience (he was even cute,) tied him into a giant wheel and whipped him. The costumes were so nice. At one point she put on some lacy chaps to sing "Still Dirrty."

All in all the concert was good, but could have used more of her older stuff, and less of the jazzy new songs.

While she was in town Xtina also took in a Canucks game, where she got to meet Fin. Obviously she had heard that I had met him and didn't want to be outdone.

Honestly, I think she is trying to be me. Blonde hair, blue eyes, meeting Fin... I even saw a pic of her at Pure in Vegas. I went to Pure in Vegas. Give it up sista!

Giants and Lil Squirts

My mom got some free tickets to a Vancouver Giants hockey game so I went Friday night with my sister, her boyfriend and his friends.

The game was a blow-out. We kicked the other team's ass 7-0 or some shit... But there wasn't even 1 fight! Come on, everyone knows that when you are losing that bad you are supposed to start something!

The best part of the night was getting hit on by a pack (well, a soccer team) of 11 and 12 year old boys who were sitting 2 rows back. At first it started off innocently enough with a "you're hot!" and a "be my girlfriend!" ... but when one called out "There's a hotel room down the street!" I had to spit out my water before I choked.

I did manage to convince one of them to give me his fruit snacks. That was a plus.

Then, between the 2nd and 3rd periods, they came and surrounded me. I had one on each side (one of which did the old yawn and put his arm around me move) and 3 behind me... It felt like the Britney Spears Slave video... I was surrounded by little boys! They wanted to take a picture with me, so I agreed. They also wanted my email address, to which I did not so much agree... AND they wanted to grab my boob... To that one I did NOT agree.

As the night on they got more and more graphic... They know about stuff that I certainly didn't know about at that age. Little pervs!

Some people's children!

My Birthday... Part Deux

If hitting up the Canucks game on my b-day wasn't good enough, my friend Elise spoiled me even more with 4 seats in a suite to see Rascal Flatts. It was awesome! The band was great... they did all their good songs plus some classics ... Hotel California, Jesse's Girl and Summer of '69.

She and I danced it up with my friend Kristin (it was her first concert ever) and her neighbor. Free drinks too! Hell ya!

After the concert we headed down to Doolins to meet up with friends and further get our drink on.

The following is brought to you in part by your friend and mine, Shellard:

"I guess Danielle and her friends had perfect timing, as 5 minutes prior to their triumphant arrival I had ordered 12 drinks. There were two idiots at our table and it worked out perfect because the two idiots left as Danielle and her entourage arrived. After I thoroughly checked out Danielle's friend Kristin, the 12 drinks I had ordered arrived: 2 for Elise, 2 for Whitey, 2 for GCL (Gay Clay Lachay) , 2 for Bri, 2 for D and 2 for me. Somehow one of the idiots stole one so I figured it would be a good opportunity to order 12 more. In no time the birthday girl in her Kelly Kapowski attire catapulted onto the table where she would have made any stripper goddess incredibly proud. In closing, the night was swell. Highlights include ordering 24 drinks within two minutes, possible Britney Spears-like shots (Danielle: I WAS wearing panties thanks, Chris) and one of the idots being called a C-U-Next-Tuesday for not chippin in for drinks. All in all, could D have asked for a better birthday? Probably ;) ... Next year we go South."

Thanks Chris... now back to our host!

At the bar I saw this guy who I had met when he came into the dentist's office for a teeth cleaning and I was volunteering. We chatted for a while and he bought me a drink and then I went to find my friends and he told me he would come find me later. He found me... but I think I ignored him in favor of buttoning up Brian's shirt to the top and then ripping it open... So I guess I missed my chance there. But the shirt ripping was so fun... And kind of a turn-on.

It was a good night, but I concur... next year we head to Mexico!

TB Free is the Way to Be

Because I need it to get into school, I went to the health clinic on Monday to get a TB skin test done. I thought all they were going to do was take a skin swab, but no... They whip out this needle, which they use to put this TB testing shit under my skin. It forms a big bubble in my skin ... like a blister or something. So gross!! This is a pic of what they did. How sick is that? I thought I would either barf or pass out.

I went back on Wednesday morning so they could check on it. No bumps or anything so I don't have TB. YAY!

My Birthday

My birthday this year was awesome! I went to work and the girls had little cards and things for me, which was really cute.

My friend got flowers delivered to the office. They were daffodils and tulips with some 80's style pussy willows mixed in and really brightened up my never see the light of day office.

Then, after work the fun began!

I headed to the skytrain and took it downtown to meet up with my friend, her boyfriend and his friend who looks exactly like Vince Vaughn.

I had a little extra time, which I spent by going through Holt Renfrew. I LOVE DIOR! It is so sad that they have purses there that cost more than I make in two weeks.

Anyways after a dinner of sushi and a strawberry banana Julius in the food court we headed down to GM Place to take in a Canucks game.

The game was great. We were playing Phoenix and we won (of course,) so we took some pics of their coach Gretzky looking angry. Cowan got into a fight and scored a goal on a breakaway and was named first star... who knew? Also, my friend made me chase down and take some pics with Finn. Hey, who doesn't love a retard in a whale suit?

At the game her boyfriend bought me a birthday churro...yum.

The best part of the game though was staring at Pyatt. I can't help myself... He is just so man-pretty! I HEART PYATT!

Thursday, March 01, 2007

I got a message on my hi-5 profile from my friend's boyfriend the other day. He had written it at 4:00AM, immidiately after getting dropped off from being at the bar and he was totally sloshed.

It basically said: "Danielle, Don't tell my girlfriend, but I think you are super sexy and I have a big crush on you. "

Oh my god! I didn't even know what to think. Is it some sort of weird test? Is he for real?

I wrote back: "Oooohhh you are BAD. What do you want me to say? She is my FRIEND!"

Right after this I get a message from her asking about it. He had told her that his friend who knew his password had thought it would be funny to go into his account and send me a message.
But, it turns out he was lying! He realized what he had done and tried to cover his ass before I told her about it. She was pissed... more about the fact that he went to such great lenghts to lie about it than actually doing it in the first place.

What am I supposed to do? He told me not to read too much into it ... but he got home and ASAP wrote me to tell me this... And everyone tells the truth when they are that drunk! My friend's bf has a crush on me! MEN!
